Z88
In 1985, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Rieg wrote the first lines of code for the finite element analysis program Z88. The Engineering Design & CAD research group is continually developing, optimizing and extending Z88.
The Z88 family is made up of
- the open source version Z88OS,
- a comfortable version with graphical user interface, Z88Aurora®,
- the topology optimization software Z88Arion® and
- the mobile versions Z88Tina and Z88Mobile.
All programs are available as freeware. The focus of the further development of Z88 is on improving user-friendliness, optimizing the existing features, and implementing new calculation possibilities. In addition to the generally available Z88 versions, special variants exist which are used in many research and industrial projects.
Z88: by engineers for engineers!
From the beginning, Z88 was intended as a program by engineers for engineers, and it has remained that way to this day. Z88OS, Z88Aurora®, Z88Arion® and the two Z88 apps were never used to generate profit. Instead, our goal is to support private individuals as well as higher education institutions by providing them with a free tool that can match commercial programs in every aspect.
